Georgia is funny
Coming to Georgia, I was reminded that here in the Bible Belt, most states don’t let you buy alcohol on Sunday. While I think that is an unnecessary annoyance, as you can just buy more on a Saturday, it doesn’t get on my nerves too bad. Not to mention the fact that it’s completely legal to go to a bar and get hammered, but you can’t buy booze to take home.
But I was struck by something as the wife and I were were doing a little shopping on Sunday, that gave me a new perspective. You can’t buy any alcohol in the whole state, but the gun counter at Wal-Mart is fully staffed. Apparently, God doesn’t want you drinking on the Sabbath, but you can get some guns and go shoot stuff!

Unfortunately, a few too many of our fellow Georgians think it’s untoward to mix reason with religion…but politics and religion seem to mix well down here.
Well Brad, at least you’ll be shootin’ your legally-purchased weapon and ammo straight and sober.
I find the Sunday liquor law so annoying. It isn’t the “buy more on Saturday” thing. I do most of my shopping on Sunday’s after church. And maybe I just want to get hammered on Sunday. It increases the chance that I’ll be resting while of course reducing the chance that I’ll start working.
Brad
Hope you don’t live near Kenisaw, city law requires you to have a gun there. If you do live there you can always borrow one of mine until you have a chance to pick one out for yourself.
