Whois Richard Strickland?
So I decided to actually do some investigation of this whole Walken in 2008 stuff. As I said, my BS detector goes off pretty strongly when I hear about this sort of thing.
First: a whois search on walken2008.com:
This site is owned by one Richard Strickland, registered to a PO box in Destin, FL. Odd, as the bio of Walken on walken2008.com lists his current residences as New York City and Wilton, CT. I’m assuming temporary places near LA for movie work, but nothing jumps out as linking him to Florida. A Yahoo! search for “Richard Strickland” and “Christopher Walken” provides no hits linking these two individuals to each other.
In addition, the “Press Release” on the site seems to have been picked up by no news media whatsoever. You would think that this would have piqued someone’s interest, but searching Yahoo! news, which picks up several news sources, has no record of this.
The “platform” link obviously has little information. The quotes that I highlighted in my previous post would not be something I’d highlight if I were running for President. The bio information is all likely public record stuff.
There are red flags all over the place. I’m calling BS on this whole thing until proven otherwise.
Update: I emailed Michael Totten, who was guest-blogging over at Instapundit and started this whole fest. I asked him who originally pointed out the link, hoping that it was Richard Strickland, at which point I’d call it “case closed”. Unfortunately, no dice. The original link was submitted by a freelance journalist. So far, I still see no reason to believe this.

I second the BS nomination. Here (http://pub28.bravenet.com/forum/2399959624/fetch/594030) is someone who is claiming that GenMay is responsible for the hoax.
