Senior Citizen Bloggers Defy Stereotypes

Forget shuffleboard, needlepoint and bingo. Web logs, more often the domain of alienated adolescents and home to screeds by middle-aged pundits, are gaining a foothold as a new leisure-time option for senior citizens.

Great. Now I’ve got to compete with people who are old enough to remember more in their lives than I’m likely to learn in the next 20 years, but senile enough to have forgotten and confused it all? I have this mental picture of Old Abe Simpson behind a keyboard… Should be loads of fun.

50 Cent Saddened by Shooting at Movie

“I feel for the victim’s family in this situation,” 50 Cent said on ABC’s “The View” on Friday. “But you know, these weren’t kids. This was a 30-year-old man (who) had a dispute with three other guys.”

Oooooohhhh… He was 30? I guess that makes it okay. Perhaps 30 year old men getting into gunfights are normal in Mr. Cent’s world, but the rest of us look down on that sort of behavior.

Woman raises multi-tasking to a new level

A young woman robbed four banks in Washington’s suburbs without ever interrupting conversations her cell phone, a sheriff’s spokesman said on Friday.

The cellphone thing has gone too far. I can’t stand it when I’m at dinner with someone and they decide to answer their cellphone instead of talking to the person sitting across from them. Or when they’re more interested in their cellphone conversation than the speeding hulk of deadly automobile they’re piloting. And now they can’t even stop yakking away long enough to rob a bank?

  2. Bradley,,,Be careful when you are talking about “old” people.

I took a friend of mine to the doctor on Wednesday and while we were waiting for my car to be brought around, I noticed a woman, with a baby, loading up her car. She put the baby in it’s car seat, folded up the stroller and put it in the trunk. Then, she drove away. The entire time she was on the phone. She never said a word to the young man that brought her car around…She was so rude…Cell phones can be a pain in the _ _ _ as at times.

Beer for a whole year? Yes, you probably are lined up the learn the sport. Ha Ha.

  3. Sammy,
What are the allowances for weight classes in chessboxing? I think given my height, reach, and weight advantage, I’d take you on. You might beat me in chess, but I can stall enough to make sure it doesn’t get that far :-)
