The Unrepentant Individual

I’m a Lucky Man…

Here in Vegas, the wife and I got to visit as some of her family friends renewed their vows after 28 years. Tonight, we had a nice dinner with them, hanging out at a nice Italian restaurant, swilling incredible wines, and listening as one of the other attendees entertained us with jokes, jokes, and more jokes.

Well, the jokes kept getting interrupted, by a live musician 100 yards away, playing popular songs. James Taylor!

(my apologies for the crappy photo, it was done on the cell phone)

  1. I am to tell you that I’m in your neck of the woods… around the corner from the “Big Chicken” at the soon-to-be Crowne Plaza Marietta. If you get back from Vegas (lucky bastard) feel free to stop by before May 2 and meet up with me. We can get lunch or something. My parents keep telling me that you are the most amazing guy the know blah blah blah and I HAVE to meet you. It would make their day. We can take our picture together and blog it ;)

  2. I am now back in Marietta, but I’m not sure what my schedule looks like. I’ll see what things look like with my schedule, and the wife’s schedule (I’m guessing telling her I’m off to meet some girl from the internet is a bad idea)…

But just up from the Big Chicken, you need to try Williamson Bros BBQ. It’s maybe a 1/2 mile up. Excellent stuff. If you weren’t a Mormon, I’d say hitting up the Marietta Diner while wasted at 2 AM is always fun as well :-)

  3. i told my parents that the whole “meeting-a-married-guy-from-the-internet-thing-no-matter-how-much-they-liked-him” was probably a bad idea, but they didn’t seem to get it… parents. enough said. lol

but i have been said to check out the marietta diner. i’m sure i’ll make my way over there. so far i have been to r. thomas off of peachtree and fado’s in buckhead and nikimoto’s in mid-town. all good places.
