Quote Of The Day

I recently came across NoFX, a band that doesn’t exactly take a kind view towards government. One quote from a song really sums up my thoughts on the average American’s idea of freedom:

The sad truth is
you’d rather follow the school into the net
’cause swimming alone at sea
is not the kind of freedom that you actually want

—NoFX, Re-Gaining Unconsciousness

  1. I like Nofx, but they are a bunch of leftists. Check out http://www.punkvoter.com.

  2. Leftists? Try nihilists.

  3. I thought of them more like anarcho-socialists… But then, I’m not one bit of an expert on NoFX, considering I’d never listened to anything they’ve done before about January.

I like that quote, though, as well as the song.

  4. There’s a reason fish swim in schools. What the fish need is leadership that doesn’t lead them into the damn nets.

  5. Nofx is one of my favorite bands, bruh. Listen to the song “Franco Un-American,” you’ll like it.

Remember when you asked me what ‘emo’ was? It used to be bands like Nofx, (early) Blink-182, and MxPx. Now it’s just whiny ‘tween-pop with bad clothing and worse haircuts.

  6. No Jim, that’s not true at all.

What the fish need are firearms, so they have the ability to protect themselves when swimming along, and not to rely on the herd mentality.

  7. MxPx is still one of my favorites…well, their old stuff.
