Question Of The Day
I know I’m not the first person to ask this, but it just struck me…
Did anyone on the TV sitcom Cheers have a Boston accent?

Cliff did, in early seasons.
Good point…..Carla sounded like she belonged in Brooklyn not Boston
Coach did too.
Remember though, most of the characters in cheers weren’t actually FROM Boston.
Norm and Dianne were both midwesterners originally (though they never specifically say, Norm is obviously from Chicago), Frasier is from Seattle; Sam was a baseball player who PLAYED for the Red Sox and then stayed in Boston afterwards; Rebecca was from Wisconsin, Carla was from Brooklyn; and ran away to Boston with her husband Nick when she was only 15.
Also, I’m Boston born and raised, and don’t have it at all. My brother sounds like an extra from “good will hunting”, or “the departed”.
Really the only strong Boston accent was Cliff Claven, and it was honestly more of a strong “New England” accent… which is unsurprising because John Ratzenberger was born in Connecticut and lived in Boston and New Hampshire. Actually he was the only member of the cast to have lived in Boston for any length of time.
Yeah, Cliff kept calling Norm “Nahmie.”
