Patriotic Dogs
The wife was in charge of this one (obviously!), so I couldn’t talk her into Gadsdens…

So Tired…
On a whim, we decided to head up to North Carolina yesterday to visit friends. But no, I’m not tired from driving, as we left that responsibility to Guinness:

He needs to work on keeping his eyes on the road, though!

So, we hang out, play some cards, get some dinner (including a buffalo chicken sandwich with a wicked habanero sauce– yikes!!), and head back to hit the sack. Well, Guinness had other plans. I’m not sure what was going on his head, but he wouldn’t sleep. He just stood there, whining, all night long. Surprisingly, Spanky— who is usually the devil’s spawn— was on his best behavior.
I got maybe an hour’s worth of sleep, and at 6:00 AM, we decided it was time to just cut the visit short and head home. Guinness didn’t drive, though, he slept the whole way! That little bastard…

Two One-Track-Minds
We got a nice Easter care package from the grandparents-in-law. Part of that care package was two toys for the dogs. After some nice time when they each played with their own toys, Spanky (as is always the case) managed to consistently corner both. So we put the toys away in the pantry. And this is what we have to show for it.
They’ve been waiting there for quite some time, with an occasional bark or yelp, because they want in. The wife had to hide the toys somewhere else just to get us a little peace. If kids are harder than dogs, I don’t know what I’m gonna do!

Uncounted Victims of the “War on Drugs”
I often argue that the “War on Drugs” causes more problems than it solves. The negative implications of giving police such wide-ranging power to stop and investigate these victimless crimes, protecting people only from themselves, are an affront to anyone who believes in civil liberties.
But that’s just me. I’m pretty rare in that sense. A lot of folks trust the government “looking out for us.”
But do you trust them when they’re killing dogs?
